New board = new problems!

Grr....I was so excited to finally get the board replaced in my new classroom and now I'm having all sorts of problems! I'm hoping someone here can help before I call tech support again.

I'm still getting random lines being drawn from my pen, even though I unchecked the lines & shapes box in the high quality bit. The pen also regularly refuses to write on the board, or pick up an object. I've tried 5 different pens, including old/new etc, so I'm fairly certain it's not the actual pens being a pain, specially as the wand is playing up too. The pen also keeps jumping or causing hidden objects to leap across the screen, out of hiding and in to full show.

The wand has similar problems to the pen, but weirdest of all is that I can no longer select a colour from the extended options! You know if you want a bigger choice of colours for the background/fill/pen, you can right click on one of the little boxes and select a colour? Well it won't let me! At first I thought it was the pen playing up again, but eventually tried it on the computer and it won't work there either! I cannot think why it's doing this! I double checked I had the latest version of absolutely everything and it still does it! I'm just so frustrated! Can anyone help? Pleeeease?? ????????

Hi Alison,

Just out of interest have you got your wand on one side of the board when using the pen and vice versa?

If you have, try taking the wand out and putting it further away from the board. I am having similiar issues with my board in my new school, it took me a few days to work it out but it has solved the problem.

At first I thought it was the pen playing up again, but eventually tried it on the computer and it won't work there either!

Did you try it straight after having pen issues? Mine would not work at all from the computer either after I had tried to get the pens etc working.

Yesterday I discovered the choosing colours box would not work!! I didn't change anything - it just stopped working. The only thing different was I downloaded the most recent windows updates!!! Could a bug have crept in??

The color issue is a bug that crept into the latest version. I have posted that in the forum already and they said it will be corrected in the next update.

Nope, pens & wand faaaar apart from each other and the board. That was the first thing that I tried. *sigh* It hasn't been that bad today, I think it's being smug, as it knows that it's winning the war. Wand is still right clicking, even though I triple checked the firmware to make sure I had the latest version. It's favourite game today has been to flash whilst the blind/spotlight is on, revealing everything underneath. It flashes pink in between revealing and not. Grr...

Thanks for that - believe it or not I had never noticed the ... before!!!! but I found the other thread in AS and the work around works for AP too[clap][clap][clap]

You click on the three dots (...) at the bottom of the colour palette that we can't get to work and it opens the "advanced" version. This one seems to work[clap]
