Hi

can anyone help, my school has just installed Promethean boards with Activ3 software, however, I have used Activ2 previously and am wondering where the resources have disappeared to?
Usually on Activ2 you accessed the resources through the shared flipchart folder, on Activ3 it is suprisingly bare, why?

Hi Darren,

Welcome to the forum.

If you upgraded to V3 online you will have very few resources, although if you have the CD you should still have quite a lot. They are just organised in a different way. If you click on General in the shared resources library you should see some familiar titles!

However, you probably will find some of the AP2 resources missing or in different places. If you visit here (http://www.prometheanplanet.com/uk/server/show/nav.2714) then you will be able to download all your favourite resource packs and more!

Thanks for your advice, however, in the shared folder I do not have a General folder, so different from Activ2!?!
Is Activ3 better?

Hi Darren and welcome
AP3 is really much better when you get to grips with it. If you follow Lou's advice you will find all the original AP2 resources as well.

Try a search for some of the objects you are looking for. It is possible that they are still there but in a different folder.
Did you download the "original" AP2 resources from the resource library? That should be categorised the way you remember.

It would be helpful, I think ;) if you could send a screenshot of what you are seeing/where you are clicking.

When you click on the icon with the 2 pens to open activ primary 2 you then click on the promethean symbol the big button which shoots a side bar out, on which are the open, save etc buttons. Clicking on open gives the options of my flipcharts/shared flipcharts/another location. Clicking on the shared flipcharts opens up options of other flipcharts e.g. Key Stage 1/Key stage 2/examples etc. Clicking on Key stage 2 opens up further options of numeracy objectives/grammar for writing/spelling bank etc. These are the resources that are sadly lacking from Activ primary 3. Following the same steps leads to disappointment as the same resources are not there in fact useless resources are there so I am still using Activ Primary 2 at home at copying the files onto Activ Primary 3, surely an updated version of software gets better not worse? That is my problem!

I see what you mean now. I have attached a flipchart with screen grabs from AP2 and AP3. There are a large number of flipcharts that have not been included in the AP3 shared flipcharts.

As a quick solution, could you navigate down into Bill Gates dungeon and copy the shared flipchart folder from AP2 and then paste it into AP3 shared flipcharts. This may save time, rather than saving each one individually!

Or you could just navigate there from within AP3 - open from another location etc etc

Ok

My Computer - Shared Documents - ActivSoftware - AP2
Look for the Shared flipcharts folder - right click on it - copy

Go up a level so you can see the AP2 and AP3 folders again

Open the AP3 folder and then paste.
