View Full Version : Blown bulb!

I think one of our projectors semi blew up! Well, there was a bang and a flash and now the bulb doesn't come on at all. The projector will, and the fan, but no light at all, so we think the bulb blew. Has anyone else had to replace a blown bulb? Can anyone recommend where to get one from? The slight hitch is that I've spent almost my entire budget already  so any ideas for cheap, but quality replacements would be much appreciated. +wave+

The projector is a Sanyo ProX SVGA (PLC SW35 we think, it was difficult to read standing on a chair on a desk!) Thanks! ????

I think the replacement bulbs are about £60-80. We normally keep a spare one in school just in case. I have replaced 3 or 4 in the past 3 years, it is fairly simple to do. You will need a very short phillips screwdriver.

I will find out on Monday where we get ours from if noone else has shared by then!

Good luck!

Don't know whether it was cheap but I replaced the bulb in the same model projector last week - purchased from Promethean.

Does any one know if the sound controller can be hidden when playing sounds from a linked object ?

Hi,
Welcome to the forum!

You can hide the sound controller by :
Going to settings, click on the linked file hosting option. Uncheck the box that says show sound controller.

Good luck

Lou,

Any idea where you got the bulbs from? We've had another 3 give off warning lights and the quotes we've got are too high - not enough money left to buy them! Please??? ????????????

We at Promethean sell replacement lamps. For an SW35, the cost is £244 +delivery & VAT. Because we buy in bulk, our prices tend to be very competitive.

However I would recommend that you contact our customer support department on 0870 165 2210 between 8am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday just so our staff can ensure that it is actually the lamp that has failed.
