Is it not possible to hyperlink to a web based flash object from a flipchart. I always seem to get an error message when I try to do this. e.g. hyperlinking to: http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/primaryframeworks/downloads/SWF/number_line.swf.
I have all the necessary plug-ins in IE but I assume there is some problem as the Promethean web browser is used. Is there anyway to set links to open with another web browser? Is there any other way to solve this frustrating problem?

Welcome Emma,
First of all be welcome to the planet forum [clap] You link does not open a correct page. But you can still use your IE Browser for websides. Only go to promethean flame/man > Studio Settings > Register Hosting for Files > Unckeck Webbrowser and you use your standard webbrowser !

You can link to a web page containing flash files and that displays properly, but the raw swf file does not appear to be supported.
To get round this problem in settings - linked file hosting - untick use web browser and then the files will open with your default browser.
Incidentally all the ITPs are in the activities section and can be either opened directly or linked to via a placeholder setting for annotating over the top.

Another suggestion is to get a standalone flash player installed - then they wi;l open automatically - flash movie player (http://www.eolsoft.com/freeware/flash_movie_player/)is a good option - freeware too.
