Arrange Flipchart PAGES Feature Request

One of our customers has a nice feature request. Is it possible to include a feature to show more then one page of the same flipchart ?
We can show more then one page from different flipchart with the arrange window function [clap]

It will be great to have a function to arrange different pages of the same flipchart (for example page 1 + 5 and a maximum of four pages of the same flp).

Hope we can include this suggestion {}

You can just SHOW more than one page using the print preview function, however, the pages aren't interactive :(

Have you tried using the Flipchart Builder where you can extract pages of other flipcharts and have 4 flipcharts open at once?

From the original flipchart I would extract pages that you want to view into its own flipchart then use the arrange windows option to view them simultaneously!

Just a suggestion!

Failing that, you could have the same flipchart open four times - (might have to rename each version) then you could use the next page / previous page buttons to select the pages you wanted to view!

I had the bright idea of creating a Custom Flipchart (2x2) - pasting each page into one of the 4 spaces in this, then using Page Scale to zoom out and view the 4 pages simultaneously.

HOWEVER..... When I tried this, Activstudio 3 packed a sad and crashed. Now whenever I try "Arrange" I get an error message....

Question: is my idea feasible?
And: what do I do to get AS back to normal?

My guess is that it is feasible, but have no idea how to get AS back, apart from uninstall and reinstall. I assume that Arrange causes a crash on all or any flipcharts?

On second thoughts this may not be feasible with pages, I think it would be feasible for images. I dragged 4 1024x768 pages to my page library. I created a 2048x1536 custom flipchart. However, when I dragged one of the pages on to the flipchart iot automatically resized the page to fit. I think I'll wait for the proper way to do it when its released :rolleyes:

Could you find out why the user is doing this - is there a type of activity happening in the classroom where interactivity is used or is it for viewing pages?

pack a sad: become morose, ill-humoured, moody. Also suggested as meaning "broken or died" i.e. the fridge "packed a sad"

Yes, Arrange causes immediate problems.
Should I use AV Doctor, and send the Report to Promethean - or just go ahead and uninstall/reinstall?

Well that was a waste of time. I used the AV Doctor and sent off the Report (about AS3 crashing when I try to Arrange) - got a message back telling me to "visit Promethean Knowledgebase where you will also find a facility to submit email queries to the Support Team. You will be asked to provide additional information through a web form which will help the team provide the answer to your questions."

What is the point of the AV Doctor function on the Dashboard?

I was just trying to see if I could recreate this but I can't work out how you managed to paste a page onto your custom flipchart without it taking up the whole page instead of just going into a quarter??

I presume Hilary's software crashed before she got to the stage where it didn't work?

The idea is, that the customer has some words for example on the first flipchart page. On this page we have some vocabulary words. On the second page we have the first lesson. The children have to write some vocabulary words in a text. But on this page, they find new vocabulary, too. So the kids write the new one in the vocabulary list. The next lesson exercirse the kids need the new words and so they write them down......and so on.

It is right - the teacher can use two flipcharts and copy the words in the first one, but they ask about a function to arrange flipchart pages of the same flipchart.
It will be great to have such a function, but I don't know if it possible. For ur info-we're working with Activstudio 2.5
