Hi,

I'm working with Promethean to develop some new Resource Packs and I thought a good one would be one with lots of pre-done action objects with nice graphics.

If anyone has any good ones that you would like to share so they can be incorporated, just put them in a flipchart and attach to your post (please put notes so I'll know what the object is supposed to do unless it's pretty obvious.)

I would love to use items like the great eraser icons that the forum member Anne Peterson submitted.

See thread: http://www.prometheanplanet.com/common/html/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=3770

Also, if you have any good custom magic looking glasses. I know Anne had submitted some of these as well in a previous thread and I thought they were excellent. (These are the grouped objects with an "erased" section to look behind things on the top layer.)

Lisa, I already have a bunch posted on the TIPS forum under the subject, "Action Objects." you can search the forum and find it, but I'd hate to post it in a ton of different places.

Hi Lisa! Sorry I'm just now responding. The Internet has been causing us lots of grief since Friday. Feel free to use any and all of my resources![clap]

Lisa - I've attached this magnifier flipchart page. In it are 2 unique magnifiers. I hope you can use them. Enjoy!

Here is a flipchart I made to show how to make an action object--- specifically the clear annotations tool.

Thank you everyone! I have now all the "ingredients" and will now be "baking my cake."

Hope everyone will like it. The Action Objects Resource Pack will also include a flipchart showing how to use make and use the action objects.

I'll post a note when it goes live!

Lisa,

I have had many requests for the reveal tool action object. I thought we had one at one point, but I can't find it any more. So I made another one if you don't already have it.

Thanks, Char,

For the reveal tool, I find that setting the page action in advance may be more helpful than the action object.

The reason is that the page contents will be hidden (using the reveal tool) when you arrive on the page. That means that the students won't see the items you are trying to hide until you are ready to pull down (or up or sideways) the reveal pulley.

On the PC, to have the revealer on automatically when you arrive at a page, double click on the page and choose the page properties icon. There should be a choice called "Tools." Then select "revealer on." I don't see it, however, on my Mac (version 3.0). Maybe this feature is not available for the Mac?

I have attached a screenshot.

Hi Lisa,

Thanks - did not know that was there on the page edit on the PC....red face....have been working too much on the Mac side....so that's a perfect solution for the PC!!

What the teachers wanted was to put the revealer action object on the page prior as a reminder to turn it on before they went to the next page. So the Mac folks could use that option until that feature finds its way to the Mac.

Thanks.

Dear Lisa,

When I try to follow your steps, I end up with the reveal on all of my pages, not on just one page. Do you know what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,
Cathy

Cathy

You should sent the pages either side of the revealer page to tools off. That way no matter which way you navigate the revealer tool will be off on the next page.

Just double click on the adjacent pages and set the tools to tools off.

Thanks for this simple tip. Makes working with the revealer so much easier. Don't know why I didn't think of it.
