Some of my reward sounds will not play even when they are contained in the correct location. Any advice?

Hi griffinc2,
Have you put the reward sound setting on the container or on the contents? The reward sound setting should be on the container itself...
Hope that helps

So the sound needs to be set on the container and contents?

Hi again,
No, just on the container itself...

On this issue of continers and sounds I have noticed that If I drag an object into the container it will play the reward sound, but if the object gets into the container some other way it won't
I set up a flipchart with a button that moved another object incrementally. When the object was moved into the container in this way the reward sound would not play. If I dragged the object into the container with the pen it would play the reward sound.
Have I missed a set in the process??????

That's an interesting observation, worth knowing, but I'm not sure what the tecky explanation is. I don't think you've missed anything.
I imagine that the container only recognises the contents if the contents are "selected". Moving the item using the method you describe doesn't actually select it.
That's my theory anyway

Thanks anyway.
What I was hoping to make was some sort of treasure hunt where objects were moved around on the board by clicking on buttons (that had the increment position action attached).
I would have small containers hidden on the board so that the students could not see them, but if that moved the object to the correct position they would be rewarded with a sound, or be given the next set of instructions (Mission Impossible style)......
I will try and think of another way.
Cheers

Hello again Peter
You do set some interesting challenges. Here's what I've come up with.
Use a button to move an object towards a third object which blocks. when the moving object is blocked, click on the blocking object set 'To front' which will bring another object (question, instruction or whatever) or it could play a sound. It can't do both as only once action can be added to an object.
Problems: the blocking object can't be made transparent to hide it if something is hiding underneath, so perhaps making it the same colour as the background is better. Be sure to hide whatever under the blocking object before the blocking object is set to block.
Let me know how you get on.

Thanks for this David,
I think there is a lot of potential in your activity.
While I have not tried it yet I think you could make the blocking object transparient by say:
Blocking object is transparient and on the 'top' layer.
The moving object is also on the top layer.
The middle layer is the scene of the activity, perhaps a map.
The bottom layer is where we keep the hidden objects. (hidden by the middle layer). The question is whether by setting an action to move an object from the bottom layer to the top layer, will it move it to the 'front' of the top layer or not?
I must play.
