Is there a way to crop images in Activstudio (I'm a Mac user). I am looking for a feature similar to the one you use in Word w/ clipart where you can cut off part of the picture from the top/bottom/left/right to get rid of something you might not need in the picture. For example, you have a picture of a baseball and a bat, but you only need the bat for your chart and there aren't any other bat images in the Resource Library. Is there a way to crop the picture right in Activstudio? I have made do by using the camera tool, but I was wondering if anyone knew of another way similar to the one from Word.

Thanks!
Kim

Hello KimYou want to cut off or copy out something from a bigger picture ?An easy way is the ACTIVstudio camera tool ! therefore freehand snashot should be great and paste the copied picture on your actual flipchart page Hope this helps

Absolutely, and one great thing about the camera tool (especially if you're connected to the Activboard) is using the freehand camera!

With it, you can draw around JUST what you want in any shape at all (not your Grandma's rectangle!)

So you can select heads off bodies and paste them on others! The ideas are limiteless!

I created a fun page where I took a full shot photograph of my nine year old son and used the camera tool to draw around him and could place him on any background (on a dirt road in Africa on a Safari, on the great wall of China!)

I LOVE the freehand camera tool!

You can also use the right click button when using the spotlight tool to capture what you are looking at.

Well, I never knew that!! I love it.[clap][clap][clap][clap]

Does it only work in flipchart mode? I can't seem to get it to do it in desktop mode.

There isn't a crop feature.

You can use mac's apple-shift-4 to take a screen shot of a selected area of the screen. You can then drag and drop the Picture 1 file, that just saved to the desktop, to your flipchart page.

I recently learned (I forget where) that if you hold ctrl when releasing the button, the image is saved to the clipboard rather than as a Pic. It can then be pasted to a flipchart or wherever. Saves a step or two.

Wow, that's cool. I'll have to try that one out! I'm pretty tired of Picture1, Picture2, etc all over my desktop. (And then trying to remember/find which photo was which.

Thanks for the tip.
