View Full Version : Calibrate icon

Hello, all..

This is a small, humble request... Is there any chance you could give calib.exe its icon back?

The calib.exe which comes with the newest driver 4.1.9.36 doesn't have an inbuilt icon. As a result, the shortcut icon changes to the generic "exe" type one.

I know it doesn't sound like much, but the training notes here all refer to the white board icon on the desktop. And I could do without the "but the notes say use the white board icon and it isn't there.. Well how am I supposed to know to use THAT icon called the same thing?" questions and comments :)

I daresay I could pockle it by extracting the icon, copying it over, and updating the shortcut's properties... But, well, y'know.. I'd rather not have to :)

(By the way - If any staff reading this know me, I don't mean YOU will complain - I mean someone else will. Probably. Ahem)

Cheers,
Gerard

I'll have a quiet word with our Driver Developer and see if we can get that back in there for the next release... not sure why it disappeared in the first place...

According to the Strathclyde phrasebook (http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/whereilive/strathclyde/voices/comments.shtm) (Google found this...) pockle means 'to fix the result of something' - sort of a tartan workaround?

Thanks Hilary.

Sorry for the delay in replying, folks - I've been busy moving a few hundred PCs around the school as well as preparing for our long-overdue migration to AD...

Hilary's definition is spot on..

You can file "pockle" under the same category as "fudge" and "kludge"... And I'd no idea where the word came from - it just gets used a lot by me in my work - kind of a virtual sticky tape and good-will :)

Cheers,
Gerard

That's what I like about this forum. It's not just a place for exchanging ideas about Activboards, it's a cultural exchange too.:):)
