I have the ACTIVwand and absolutely love it, but I am not sure how you right click with it. I keep doing it accidentally, but can't figure out how to right click when I need to. Thanks

Hello kellyandbryan,

With the activwand you doesn´t have any function of the right click, i think. You can point with the activwand to show in a flipchart which you discuss and with the button of the wand you can use a left click, f.e. to drag an object to another position.

Hope this helps :o

I have a question, with the activwand you can use the zoom tool, but then, because I don't think there is any right click feature on wand, is there any way, with the wand, to zoom back out? Or do you just have to do it with the pen or the mouse on the computer?
Hope this makes some kind of sense.
thanks!

Kelly - as the other thread says, if the firmware is correct, I would contact tech support.

Cheryl - If you want to zoom back out slowly, you are right, you need the right click. But if you want to quickly go back to regular view after you have zoomed in, just double click the page. So using the wand, put it against the board, then hit the button twice. Should be back to 100%

Thanks Scott, I'll give that a try and pass it on to the teacher who was asking me the question! Much appreciated![clap]

The Activwand is a simple yet very useful device.

When Promethean made this device, they targeted this device for elementary grades and possibly for handicapped children, who could extend their reach on the Activboard using Activwand.

However being a high school teacher I have found it to be very useful in the following environments:

(1)Your Flipchart for that day does not involve much pen annotations...mainly involves touch and turning pages and pointing. Activwand becomes very useful here

(2)Your flipchart or lesson involves a lot of interactive flash based games/animations that students/teacher can interact. Activwand is great in this situation.

I agree. For the teacher, the Activwand not only extends your reach (if you have a hard time reaching the top of the Activboard) but it also gives the students more "viewing" room meaning the teacher is not blocking the board BUT (unlike the slate) the teacher is THERE next to the content.

I find that the slate has an advantage as it allows the teacher to freely move about the room, BUT it is sometimes hard for the students to focus when the teacher is in one place talking (and driving the content) and they see the content driven someplace else. They're not sure where they should be LOOKING.

For me, that is a huge disadvantage of a slate-ONLY solution.
