I seem to be forever asking questions, rather than being more commuity spirited. Sorry about that, but you are all so great that I can't help myself...:D

Right,
If I go to export wizard through the dashboard, the only option I am given for export filetype is html. Shouldn't I also see pdf, doc and swf?

I can work around it in a rather painful way, by associating an object in the flipchart to the action "export to *", where * is the filetype of my choice.

Has anyone else experienced this oddity, and am I missing something?

I have the latest version of AP3.

Thanks to all

Dennis

Hello,

You can only export to HTML in Activprimary.
You can import FROM Power Point (using the dashboard)
You can export Activote results to Excel and Notepad, but that's it I'm afraid...

You can export to the other file types in Activstudio...

Sorry it's not the answer you want...!

But perhaps that's not the whole story.

Try this:

Open an existing flipchart.
Do the following to a new or existing object (Design Mode)
Open the properties of the object.
Select "Actions"
Choose "ActivPrimary functions" from the action types.
In the scroll down list choose what you want from:
Export to PDF
Export to DOC
Export to HTML
Export to SWF
In Presentation mode, click on the object, and the dialog will open to export to the file you have chosen.

Voila!

So the functionality exists within the software, but not in a convenient way. I hope this is not a bug that is going to be removed, but a feature to be implemented. I just wish there was an easier way of doing it, though.

Just noticed, also, that you can "export" to PDF using the Print box- as long as you have the appropriate Adobe PDF driver...
(Vicky-D spotted that one)

You learn something new every day! Excellent stuff...
