Reading the forum entries has been a lifesaver on many occasions for me and I thank all the contributors wholeheartedly. I find the Flip Charts in the Resources Section a fantastic inspiration. It's wonderful to think of teachers from different parts of the world sharing teaching strategies.;)

Could anyone tell me how to change the dimensions of the background on a Flip Chart that I have created on a laptop at home.? Once I add it to the Activ Board at school I have a band of white at the top and bottom and feel that it lessons the appearance of it. I'm sure that it is simple but I'm not very technical????? Many thanks Elaine

Hi elaineh, good to hear that you're finding the forum so useful..

Previously created flipcharts
I'm not aware of a way to change the size of a flipchart once it has been created. You can, however, play with viewing options using the Page Scale button (the S in the top-right of your screen).

New Flipcharts
You can create new flipcharts of any size, using the custom options. You can reach this using the dashboard if you have version 3. Otherwise, click on the Main Menu button in the Main toolbox.

Select Flipchart>New>Custom to open a box headed "custom page size".
Use the Frame Size drop-down arrow to select custom.

Then you can type in any width and height of flipchart you choose. You might have to experiment iwth the exact numbers...? Or perhaps someone else can help you there...

Hope that helps

Sounds to me like you are preparing on a wide screen laptop. By default Activstudio will create a flipchart which is the same as the screen size. That is why when you return to school and you don't have wide screen format you get the bands. On your home laptop you need to set the flipchart size manually to be 1024*768. Menu>Flipchart>New and choose that size option. You will have bands at the side while preparing, but no bands above and below when you get back to school.

Thank you Simon and Peter for your advice. I now know what to do for future Flip Charts and will have a play with the S to see what happens to my old ones. Thanks again elaine[clap]
