Hello...

I am looking for Margaret Allen's Magic Revealer flipchart, where many different "magic magnifyers" are in the flipchart... This way I can add some to my tool bar. I always end up with a small line in the middle of my magnifying glass, so I obviously do not do it flawlessly. Paige Frenkel (TLC) said that her flipchart was downloadable as a resource flipchart... and I have searched for it for quite a while. Anyone have it and can send me the flipchart or link for it? What key words would it be found under? :D

Thank you!

Try these Keywords: magnifier, magnifying glass, revealer, spyglass.

Use the Search facility in the top blue bar - not Search this Thread

This is the first time that I have ever used this site and don't know if I am doing it correctly. The district uses Activstudio new version 3. Can someone give me a step by step way to use a magnifying glass. Thanks. Mary Jo

Welcome to the Forum - you will find lots here to help you with your new board and software. As well as Search, FAQ is another place to go for checking popular topics.

The magnifying glass/spyglass/revealer/magic viewer has a 'blob' of eraser framed in a holder, both objects grouped to keep them together.
The eraser works on objects on the Top layer - the default layer for annotations (anything you create using the Pen tool) but you can move other objects from their default layer up to the Top layer. The Eraser part of the spyglass will then work on those to look through to objects behind.
Right-click on an image or shape > Layer > Top
Place this object over another object
Move the spyglass (or use the Eraser tool..) over the concealing object to reveal what is hidden behind it.
There are plenty of explanations of how to make one of these, but your question was how to use it...
Hilary

PS the object to be revealed by the spyglass needs to be NOT on the Top layer (otherwise the spyglass will look right through it...)

Hilary,

I had not been able to get a good picture in my head of what this tool looks like, but it is very clear now. Thanks!

Here's the flipchart... I found the link under 100 top teaching tips. I think it may have been done by Nadeem, or Margaret - or maybe both. :)

Hi

Not sure if you needed an answer or whether nobody bothered  Choose the type of forum you want to post your question into. Activstudio/Activprimary etc then Click on New Thread and there you go.

Hope that helps?+wave+

I've just started playing with the flipchart recorder as a way to demonstrate how to use active. Here is something I've just thrown together on how to create and use the spyglass. It's a bit rough and ready and there's no sound (probably a good thing), but it might help someone.

I have looked at several of the flipcharts. I have made my own.
 Problem: I get a donut style "revealer". If I change the pen size; i.e. 80 from 12; it enlarges the viewing area. I have not read any posts about having to adjust the pen size when selecting the "erraser" option. Any suggestions on this?

I am a bit confused as not sure if I assumed I was to search the resources section under topic for the flipchart. I do not have a blue bar at the top I only have the search feature blue bar in the forum. I have searched for all that you suggested and still did not find the 100 Top Teaching Tips. Is this flipchart in forum discussion or a resource.
Thanks

You said "Here is the Flipchart" for Margaret Allen's revealers. But where is it? I've clicked on everything on this page and can't seem to find it.

Thanks, Shirley

Okay at the top of this page you will see a blue box with seven options. Click on Search - search for revealer or spyglass....
