V3 + Driver + Pen Issues

Hey,

I had a fellow teacher whos pen quit working about a month ago, before she installed V3. After she installed, we received a new shipment of pens for our school, so she received one. Well, our tech person told her that he could not find the driver for the old pen on V3 and this is why her pen did not work anymore. He then preceeded to tell her that her computer had crashed and would have to be taken away so that V3 can be uninstalled. Is what he is saying true?? I am running V3 and too have had trouble with the pens long before I installed V3. Is there another driver we should download in order to make the old pen work again?

The latests drivers can be downloaded from Prometheanworld.com under Support > Driver Upgrades

Promethean support can assist with any issues of this nature. Your technical person may want to speak to them. They will be delighted to help.

If there is a consistent problem with an old pen - then perhaps a relacement is in order. Again please contact support.

i think you may need to upgrade the firmware for the board

I echo what Mark says in that the best way to resolve your colleaugue's problem is to contact Technical Support.

However I can state that the drivers are not pen specific and the driver supplied on v3 of Activstudio will support pens whether old or new.
