In Version 3 there are new right click, edit options that let you flip or mirror objects horizontally or vertically including text...

In addition to using this to teach symmetry or make a poing in an Art and Design context - you can do some interesting things by attaching actions to objects to flip or mirror another object to make games and simulations.

You can add also add an action to an object so it will flip and mirror itself when clicked.

Double Click, Choose Properties > Actions > Object and choose a flip or mirror action - you then choose the object that the action should work on.

Mark, I so forgot how much I use this all the time when I am teaching. I just finished a whole unit on transformations. It was a great way to demonstrate to the kidos how reflections, rotations and translations work. This week, we are finding inverses of graphs and functions, and it would be great to be able to mirror across y = x. or maybe there is and I just do not know, if so can some one fill me in?+wave+

There is no 'line of symmetry' tool yet which would do this ... but what I might do is get some bright spark kid and teach them the actions, etc and give them the challenge of doing it or faking it.

Alternatively use a grid and a line and the point to point tool - and draw the transformed shapes / graphs...

Here are some online tools that you could link to or use in desktop mode. There is a mirror and rotational symmetry one.
