???? Hi there! Can anyone help me? I have copied a clock onto a flp page and I want to set it up so that when I click the clock it automatically launches a countdown clock for 5 minutes. I went to properties and set it to launch the countdown clock but I dont know how to enter 5 minutes in the parameters - all I could get was 5 seconds.

Related to this - is there a manual telling all the different settings etc for the actions, like this clock one, so that you dont need to post here every time. (Although I am always stunned at the quick and helpful responses you always get here!)

Thanks,
Oliver

The parameters for the clock are in seconds so to get 5 minutes you would enter the value 300.

That's brilliant! I never realised that there was an option to set a fixed time for the countdown.

It would be easier to use if it actually said: "Minutes" and "Seconds" rather than parameter - but at least I know you can do it now!

Thanks Dan.[clap] That's really useful to know for so many flipcharts.

Best wishes,

Hi-I like your clock idea. Where in properties you see the countdown to set the clock to action? thank you

I made a lot of clocks with different time values I then put them on my toolbar so when I do a warm-up or give the students a time I can quickly drag a timer out and not have to keep making them. I've attached a flipchart page with my clocks anyone wants them. To start the clock you just need to click on the top of the clock since I have a number in the middle you can't click the middle

Every time I visit this forum I learn something new. But of course, every new fact raised further questions...

What else can you control with these parameters? :)

I know this is the PC forum, but I love this idea, so I tried to use them with the Mac version. When I click on a clock, it opens the countdown clock menu, but the time is set to 0. Is this something that the PC version will do that the Mac won't?

Thanks.

I moreso have the same question than Dave, can you control something more than time to count with the parameters ?

I have this little clock button I got from the ressources. I browsed to the button's actions, entered a Countdown to Timer... I inserted a countdown of 15 seconds in the parameter's box. It just works fine. Then, I realized that using the clock countdown from the menu gave me the option of doing an action at the end of the countdown (i.e. Go to Next Page). Very useful.

My question:

Can I, within the parameters, set an action to do at the end of the countdown, like the "main" Countdown offers ?

And I'm dreaming there... but if I could set the action I want (from the action list), I would set the "Start/Stop Activote" to end the voting at the end of the countdown.

The only parameter you can currently change in giving an object the action of showing the countdown clock is setting the time to elapse.

The other actions are accessed from the clock menu ion, but these are limited to to the presets in the dropdown menu.
