Is there a reason that when I type text in a flipchart, the size of the font changes when I'm done? If I'm writing in 18, the 18 doesn't change, but the physical size on the flipchart does. I didn't notice this problem in 2.5. I hope that it is just something in studio settings that needs to be checked.

This has to do with the Page Scale options
As you create a text, it is shown at the "genuine" size.
(eg If you want 18, you see 18.)
Sometimes, however, your page scale displays the flipchart at less than 100% (eg 90%).
When the text is finished and becomes part of the page, it will take on the scale of the page. The text will appear to "shrink" to 90%. It will return to 100% as you edit the text again.
To avoid this issue, view your flipcharts at 100%.
Hard to explain - I hope that makes sense!

Thanks. That did the trick!:)

I have the same problem with text changing size but I can only prevent it when I display in "fit width" mode. Scaling to 100% does not fix the problem for me.
I also notice that the "deconstruct" function selects the text based on where it would be if you were editing it not on where it actually is when you right-click on it.
Can text be fixed so it does not change size when you edit it and selects properly for deconstruct?
Thanks,
Karl

Could this be why when I use the camera tool the image captured is larger than the original? Does this have to do with the fact that I have to set a custom size for my flipchart because I work on a wide screen laptop? HMMMMM? I have always wondered why that happens.

Hi both, interesting comments, not sure how much I can help!
Karl, yes, not sure about the exact details but I know playing with the Page Scale options often solves these things.
If you create "screen size" flipcharts each time and view the flipchart at 100%, this should avoid the issues you're having (if it isn't I can only assume that your problem is somehow unrelated). If you move the flipchart onto a different computer, however, the issue could re-emerge if you view flipcharts differently on that computer.
There are lots of factors in play - if the flipchart was created on a wide screen, the screen resolution.... etc.
Laura, yes that also explains what happens with the camera tool.

Thanks... I'll keep playing with it.
Seems likely that there is something going on with my wide-screen laptop.
It also seems that there is an opportunity for an improvement in a future release.
Thanks again,
Karl

I periodically have problems with this, and haven't yet figured out a fail-safe solution.
I think my problem stems from the fact that my computer monitor at home where I plan my lessons has a width of 1280 pixels. The data projector at school has a width of 1024 pixels. Most of the time I don't have any problems - the text size doesn't change when I am editing it or displaying it, and what I see at home matches what I see at school.
But occasionally when I am planning a lesson, the text in the text edit box is smaller than the text when it is displayed. So I fiddle with the text box so the text fits nicely on the screen, but then when it is displayed it is too long. So I have to do it again and try to estimate where to put the line breaks so it nicely fits the screen.
And occasionally when I display a page at school, the top and bottom of the flipchart can't be seen because the size has changed. So I have to mess around a bit to re-adjust everything so they can be seen.
These are only occasional problems, and solutions aren't hard to find. But I would like to avoid them if possible. So if anyone knows how to overcome the issue of monitor/LCD projector resolutions being different, I would love to know.
Cheers

Hi Rex
Have you tried creating flipcharts at the projector resolution 1024 by 768 on every machine regardless? Apologies if you already have.

I have. But when I do that, the width of a text box when I am editing it is different to the width of the text box when I am viewing it. I don't have to think about my monitor resolution with any other software that I use, and I shouldn't have to - that sort of stuff should be taken care of automatically.
I think the solution to different resolutions for my monitor and my projector is simple: Always create new pages using (Flipchart, New, ScreenSize). But I would appreciate it if one of the list gurus would confirm or deny.
Cheers
