Sorry, couldn't think of a better title!

Just a couple of tips that some might not know (I had been using the board for over a year before I was shown these!):

* Hover about 1/2 cm away from the board and use the button on the pen as a right click.

* If you want to swap your tools from left to right or top to bottom, right click near the edge of the board next to the tools.

Also, my children use the other end of the pen when they are counting objects or pointing to something on the page, I think it has become a habit but they all do it as it stops things getting moved!

One new discovery we made was if you hover over the board and right click, then glide your hand upwards...you can zoom out in Google Earth...I am not sure what function that mimmicks on the mouse...but it is very effective for zooming out in that program.

I am going to try it in other applications as well...Check it out!

if you need to calibrate your activboard you can start the calibration tool with the pen.

1. if your activboard has a single light in the top left corner, then hover the pen over that light, you will hear a beep and the calibration screen will appear. (doesn't work if your image is over the top of that light).
2. if your activboard has a black oval window or no lights then there is a dot on the tip of the bottom left corner marker, press the pen on that dot and you will hear a beep, the calibration tool will also then appear.

Since this seems a bit of a mish mash of did you know I will add one of my own.

I found out the other week that if you right click on the handwriting icon in Activprimary it opens an adult version of the tool where you can write anywhere on the board and it will automatically change to text.:)

You can also use the pen as a Q-Tip!

Alright, just kidding.

But another trick, when you have the page selecter opened, you can right click on the bottom of the screen, and move the pages to the bottom if you want. You can also do the same trick to move them back to the right side.

Right click on the "next page" or "previous page" arrow and you can change the page turn effects. My favorite effect is random!

Sometimes when I double-click on an object to bring up the Object Edit toolbar, it takes several tries to get the toolbar up because I'm moving the image when I double-click on it.

To help solve that problem, I now rest the heel of my hand on the board and then double-click on the object. That prevents me from moving the object and I get the object edit toolbar almost the first time every time!

I use heel of the hand (or rest the edge of my hand) for right clicks, too. It allows me to keep the nib steady a few mm off the board. Works every time.

Hmm...I write with my hand on the board! That's why I love the pen so much. When you have a touch sensitive board it tries to 'read' my hand!
