The 'Point To Point' Tool will 'Snap to Grid'...

Ensure that your flipchart page contains a grid and that it's 'Snap to Grid' property is switched on. NB. You can check this by doubling clicking on the grid and looking at the 'Snap to Grid' tool icon on the 'Page Edit' toolbox.

Now if you use the Point to Point tool you will see that each point will automatically snap to the nearest grid intersection point.

This makes it incredibly easy to create accurate objects (see attached screen recording)

This looks pretty cool Nigel, hadn't thought of this use for 2D and 3D shapes.

I've used a dot grid before, and used it for geoboard work. One child can create a shape on the board, then the other children copy it on their geoboards.

I always use this feature for getting the children to draw 2D shapes. Really easy, quick and looks good. [clap]
