Hi all,
One of the teachers at my school finds the object edit toolbox very frustrating - it keeps popping up in the middle of presentations. I noticed in the studio settings it is possible to uncheck the feature "double click to see toolbox" (or something like that) but then how do you see it?
I wonder if it would be better to have an option to restrict this tool box to design mode? My kids also find it confusing if they inadvertantly double-click and then this box follows them around the board! Sorry, last bit probably belongs in features requests.
Cheers

You're right. If you disable the double click by unchecking the 'show toolbox with double click' in toolbox settings then not all the features show in design mode.
But in version 3, if you customise your toolbar at the top by adding the missing toolbox features (in design mode go to customise>toolstore and drag the properties, send to front & send to back icons to the toolbar at the top of the screen. Also untick the 'show toolbox with double click' in toolbox settings ) then hopefully your aim will be achieved. No more annoying toolbox on double click and going into design mode will give you all your required toolbox icons for you to use.

Aha! Good idea Craig - I'll suggest this to the frustrated teacher!

This was happening earlier to a teacher, but she wasn't double clicking or right clicking on the pen just dragging objects. I tried myself as well. The edit object box just kept popping up it was really annoying. I went to the studio settings and unclicked the box that allowed the object edit box to come up, but even then it still was popping up. Is this even possible. She said that sometimes when she closes the program it works, but then starts to act up again by everytime she writes. Any advice would be great this teacher keeps having problems and is to point of wanting to stop using the board since it seems like something new everyday.
Thanks,
Jamie

I have had a pen malfunction and it would act as though you were right-clicking (pressing the button on the pen) even when you were not. Have you tried using a different pen on the board?

Just in case you hadn't realised.....+wave+

When you double click on an object you effectively tell the object(s) that you are in edit mode. So when you click "off" the object the toolbox disappears, but as soon as you click on another object it pops back again.

You do need to physically kiss it goodbye ;) (click on the cross) to close it.

I know when I first started using the software I hadn't realised that, and was equally frustrated that this toolbox seemed to be attached to my pen.......but maybe that was just me and you are all way more intelligent than me!!

I think it might have been the pen because I was looking at it again this weekend and it was just like you said Holli it kept acting like I was pushing the right click and I was not. I'll tell that teacher to try that if it happens again.
Thanks all
