As a district, we are new to Promethean and ActivStudio. One of the most annoying tools is ActivMarker. When we use PowerPoint 2007, and try to annotate, the activmarker automatically draws autoshapes within the presentation. I know that you can manually disable ActivMarker from the toolbar, but is there any way to stop it from starting automatically, or to delete it altogether?

When I read this I thought it was just something you could easily adjust in the settings options, so I had a look and a play and then found I'd turned active marker on and couldn't turn it off - perhaps I should mind my own business;)

Anyhow I've figured it out - use the dropdown "Main" menu (where the dancing man is or was depending on your version) and go to Active extras. There will be a tick besides active marker. Click to remove tick and it should stop activemarker from starting- unless of course you put the tick back. The dashboard in Active3 seens to have an option to turn on activemarker when off, but doesn't seem to do the opposite- strange!

Hope that helps

There's a bug on the dashboard, which will be fixed in a later build, that stops the switch off Activmarker button from working.
