I currently downloaded v3 to home and two to of my school computers. The one on the board gives a nice quick reference toolbar that I don't know how I got, but I want it on my other two. It gives quick reference to drawing straight lines etc. I will snap a pic tomorrow if I am not explaining it well enough.

Try this. Go to "Customize" on the Main Menu, click on "Flipchart Style", then "Standard Windows". Is this what you mean? It's also neat that you can drag tools to the bar from the Tool Store, as well as rearrange them. :)

Brian,
It sounds like you might be referring to the Design Mode toolbar (includes cut, copy, paste, lines, grid options). You can actually be in Standard Activstudio or Standard Windows mode to access this, so you don't need to change your mode unless you want to (thanks to the previous post for mentioning this option!).
To get that toolbar, go to the Main Menu and choose the first option, Design Mode. You now have the toolbar at the top. You'll also notice that the Main Menu icon turns orange, indicating that you are in Design Mode. This mode was created so that users could quickly access tools needed for designing lessons.
When you want to deliver the lesson in class, just select the Design Mode option from the main menu again to take off the checkmark, and you will be taken back to the regular Activstudio window (page icon turns back to white).
You may also drag and drop any tool you like from the toolstore onto this toolbar. Just be sure to access the toolstore when you're in Design Mode or you won't see the option.

Thanks, Lori. I also have the "Main Tool Bar" showing in Presentation Mode (as well as in Design Mode), and it appears I do have to be using Standard Windows mode for that to happen.

Dont forget pressing F2 toggles between Design and Presentation mode, if you want to swap quickly...

Oops! Carol is right! You do have to be in Standard Windows mode to view the toolbar at the top of the screen. Thanks for setting me straight!

There are also a few other things you can add when in Standard Windows mode.
The File menu text at the top, along with a coordinate map at the bottom.

On the dashboard > Configure panel...of AS 3 you can select profiles...
The Standard is most like the old AS2.5. The new Advanced Profile offers more tools.
You can save you profile from one machine and load it into another instance of Version 3 elsewhere using this screen. You can even mail it to a colleague.
