The new feature of version 3 is the ability to export flipcharts to flash swf format.

This is extremely useful specially for teachers like me who use a LMS system like "moodle" for their classroom.
Students no longer need a student activstudio version to see a flipchart.
All they need now is a browser to view flipcharts of lessons that they may have been absent.
Since moodle has native flash support, students can also view a smaller thumbnail version of the exported flipchart within a "moodle forum"

I have attached 2 flipcharts to show the effect.

I'm working mainly with ACTIVPrimary v3 and can only export to HTML. It works effortlessly. I was able to export the same flipchart to Flash by exporting it from AS v3. Thanks for reminding me to investigate what can be done in AS v3.

That is really useful to know. We have been considering the issue of uploading flips to our VLE and how all pupils can view them. Ideally they will all soon have Student V3.... when it becomes available.....
In the meantime this seems like a good workaround - as we don't want to give the pupils SE.2 if V3 is following soon... any updates....? +wave+

SE version 2/SE version 3 Vs Web Browser [list]
- SE will preserve a bit more of the actual original flipchart creation than a web browser

-Students may not have the ability or rights to install SE version on home machine, but a browser will always be present.
-School computer labs usually will not allow any install on machines, but will always have a browser

Points taken.
We have been trying out SE with the kids - they borrow a CD and install at home with parental consent.
We have SE on all machines in our ICT suites.
With the big push on schools developing VLEs I am concerned about how we will roll out SE to all 850 pupils. It can be done - but I really only want to do it once (hence waiting for V3) in the meanwhile your suggestion should ease things. I realise that we will lose functionality but at least all pupils will have access.
