I am a very very excited first grade teacher who has had a Promethean Board for an entire week now. I am LOVING it and so are my first graders!
Please forgive this elementary question!!!! (We have not had training yet on the board)
I have some web page backgrounds from graphics clubs I belong to. I wondered if they could be saved and used as background on my flip charts. I have created some flip charts but do not know how to save my own backgrounds and how to add them to the flip chart I make. I do know how to add simple color using the fill bucket. But I need to know how to import my background and add it to a flip chart page.
Please forgive this beginning learner! I am so excited and want to know how to do it ALL now!!! ( smile)
Thanks to anyone who can take the time to share how to do this.
Many thanks!!!! : )

Hi Calpers,

Welcome to the forum+wave+ . I teach Year Two, and I can imagine how excited your Year One's must be! I knew we were getting the board for about four weeks before it came, and I used to give a new clue everyday about the 'very very exciting thing' that was happening after the holidays!

To use web backgrounds, copy the folder that holds your current backgrounds, and paste it into My Backgrounds. In my computer you can find this via My Documents> Activstudio3>My Backgrounds.

When you open up the resource library, go to My Backgrounds and they will be sitting there waiting for you.

PS I just found this out - to save a web background, right click on a blank area on the page and Choose Save Background As... - then navigate to My Backgrounds.

Cheers,
Wendy

Hi Both

Just to clarify... Wendy, you have to have the backgrounds folder open in order to do what you just described!

Hi Margaret+wave+

What I meant was to transfer the images via My Computer, if Calpers already has a collection of background images - Activstudio/ primary shouldn't need to running for this to work.
Cheers,
Wendy

Good morning!
Wendy! It worked! I got up and checked to see if anyone had responded to my question on this forum and you did! I followed your great instructions and wow!!!! I did it, I added my own backgrounds!!!! I LOVE it and I so appreciate you and Margaret taking the time to help this newbie to Promethean Boards.
Any tips on how to learn more stuff? Should I print out all the help manuals? Is this the forum to ask my simple beginner questions or is there somewhere else for newbies?
I have been playing a lot and have discovered how to do a lot that way but I want to do even more! (smile)
Thank you both!
Have a wonderful day!http://www.prometheanplanet.com/common/html/vb_forum/images/icons/icon7.gif

Another cool way to make a background is to use an image from the resource library and make it a little translucent. It makes it look like a water-mark. I found that most of the backgrounds provided are too dark.

Try that and see how you like it!
