I was wanting to put a count down timer on a flipchart that when clicked started a 3 or 4 minute count down automatically without setting it to 4 minutes everytime. Possible?

Alright, I think I know how it might be done, but not sure I can do it for you as I don't have a copy of Developer Edition (that allows you to make ACTIV objects). And, I've never made an activ object myself (LouB, are you there? I know you can).
Anyway, you may have noticed that the coundown timer tends to 'remember' the last setting you had on it - this is useful if you always want the timer to have 4 minutes on it. So, if you had 4 mins last time, you'll have 4 next time. If I'm reading you right, you want a 4 minute timer at a single click.
First of all, you need an ACTIV object in your library that is an item you can place on the page that will launch the countdown timer with a single click (I'm sure this is something someone's posted before, but I can't find the post and don't have the very thing in my own library) Then, (and here's where I start to speculate) it should launch the timer when you click it and (as long as you had 4mins on the timer last time you used it) it should countdown 4 mins.
If it's not a stupid question, how hard is it to just set the timer with a couple of clicks and save all this grief?;)

Come on you other regulars... I know some of you could help out with this.+wave+

I can't help either  so probably best I don't interrupt but nevertheless .........................

I use these flash timers (the ones on the right on page 2), kindly submitted by someone on here [clap] (sorry I can't find the original post). I have put mine in My resource library and just drag them out when needed ..................... but yes you do have to click it a few times but they look good!

Hope that helps - probably not!! :D

And here's the link to those action objects - I'm pretty sure the one for the AP/AS timer is there - if not I have it in library somewhere!

However ................................

If the 'designer folk' are reading this - I too do like the idea of having a set of 'set time' timers that I can drag out of my library when the need arises. I know it's lazy but ..... why not?!

Got the timer from your last post file upload. Thanks :) as for the primary stuff ... no go... link was good but the goods weren't , as I have the teenage edition of activstudio. (eg I am hoping they are different cause I couldn't get the thing to paste on to or into anything in Activstudio)

Always the way... lots for the kids and bugger all for the adults.

Hi

I don't think I can make an action object which automatically is 3 mins. I can make one though that opens the count down timer (which would come up with the last time used). I will have a play tonight and see what I can do/find.
I think you might find something in version 3 when it is released! [clap]
