How do I change my background default to be "center" or "best fit" versus "tiled"? Everytime I bring in a background (the graphic organizers) they come up tiled. Do I have to change this everytime I bring in a new background? I would like to set my default to "center". I thought maybe my answer would be in settings but I'm not seeing it. Am I missing something here? Thanks!

Hi Shawna! I'll search and look for you . . . This is what I think you can do for your backgrounds - no matter what background it is. First of all, at the very bottom of your resource library you can select to "grow" objects - if you want to make your background larger or smaller. (Sorry - you probably already knew that!!) However - once you have placed your background on the flipchart page, you can double click on the page. Your "Page Properties and Actions" tool box will pop up. Check how your Appearance is set: you can select from here to have tiled, stretch, best fit, etc. Play with that and see if it helps. :) Good luck!!
(Thanks so much for the card by the way!! You were the first card we received congratulating us!!) :)

Tai - Your suggestion are good...and I've tried them. However, this doesn't solve my problem. If I drag one graphic organizer into my flipchart, change the setting from "tiled" to "best fit" everythings looks great. Then as soon as I pull in another graphic organizer I get the "tiled" effect again. This seems to occur in all my backgrounds. I don't want to have to change the "tiled" setting everytime.
In talking with Tai, her backgrounds don't automatically come in "tiled". Why are mine doing this? I'm running the newest version. I don't recall this happening before. Could I have changed a setting I wasn't aware of?
HELP PLEASE!

Most of the backgrounds shipped with the software require "tiled" as default. Many are just single lines or shapes that when tiled fill the flipchart page.
Other shipped background graphics are actually sized at 1024x768, so that although the default is tiled they fill the screen anyway. I'm not sure what this graphic organiser is, but assume it isn't a standard shipped background.
The way around this if you are using other graphics as backgrounds is to resize them to the same size as your screen resolution. This is most likely to be 1024x768 on a PC but could be different on a new MAC

2 points worth making here.
1 - Each background in the Resource Library knows its own tiling setting. In other words the tile setting is stored with the background resource and is applied when that resource is added to the page. For example, all the graph papers are set to be tiled. But something like the clock (Shared Backgrounds\big clock.as2) is set to be 'Tile Fit: Centre'.
If you want to change the default tiling option for any background you need to modify it then add it back into the library. This is quite simple. Drag your background from the Resource Library onto a flipchart page. Then visit Page Properties and alter the Tile fit option (as mentioned earlier in this thread). Then (ensuring the Resource Library is still open at a Backgrounds folder) right click on the page and choose 'Add to library --> Background'. Save the background as a new filename or overwrite the original. Now whenever you use this background in future it will automatically apply your chosen Tile Fit.
2 - You can make any image be the default background for every new page you start in a flipchart. This is done in 'Settings --> Flipchart --> Default Background on New Pages'. Here you can select any image as the default and also specify the default 'Tile Fit'.
