Hello all,
I create exercises in a program called hot potatoes. At the moment I create htm pages and access them using safari. I wondered if anyone knew if there is a way to embed the exercises into a flipchart page so that they could form part of a sequence of activities.
Thanks in advance!

I also use hotpotatoe quiz program.
I dont recall if the software allows you to export it to swf format.
If it does, then you can embed that in your flipchart.
Let me research this and I will get back to you .
cheers

I did some reseatch.
There is a add on tool wrapper for the hot potato program.

It is called potato skin.

http://www.learnertools.com/mcskins/multiple_choice.html

This lets you make your hotpot exams in html format.
Once you have it on html format...you can use dreamweaver to make it into flash.

Hi Oliver,
I have found a very nice and elegant way to embed hotpotato quiz inside active studio flipcharts.
It is really neat and free. We have to thank Brian Nelson for this wonderful hotpot skin wrapper.

First you need to get Hot Potato Version 5.5 ( Version 6 will not work)

Next download the MCSkin wrapper from Brian Nelson's site. I gave you the URL in the previous post.

Unzip the wrapper.

Create a hotpot JBC quiz file of your choice.
Place that file in the "skin"folder.
The open the "option.jbc" file with hotpot version 5.5
Add the path to your new quiz.

Next open either the "mcskin.html" or the mcskin.swf" file to test and make sure things work fine.
Finally embed the mcskin.swf file to your active studio flipchart.
I am very impressed with the output and the possibilities as a complete activity for my students using the single powerful interface of Activstudio.

The cool thing about this wrapper is that it updates the swf flash file as you create new activities.
This is the only tool that I know of that does that.
Here is a link to show you what I created as a test:
