Hi, here's another "newbie" question. I want to make a flipchart where I can move individual letters of the alphabet into a crossword puzzle. First question, are there alphabet letters in the resource library? If so, where - I can't find them! Second question: To make a simple crossword puzzle, do I just arrange small squares next to each other to create the puzzle, or is there any easier way to do it? Thanks ????

I may have something that may be even easier.

Go to this website and type in your words and clues:
http://www.puzzle-maker.com/CW/

Then use the Activstudio or Activprimary camera tool to capture the puzzle and the clues. (I do three captures one for the puzzle, one for the "across clues" and one for the "down clues." You can also capture the solution if you want on another page.

I made one just for fun. See attached flipchart. I had used this in the past for a lesson about Punnett Squares that is posted on Promethean Planet's flipchart resources (USA).

enjoy! [clap]

There's also Hot Potatoes which is a free download from the University of Victoria on Vancouver Island from which you can make your own puzzles - crossword and others - and link them to the flipchart.

If you are in the UK (I'm just thinking resources libraries elsewhere may be different, but you can try) , go to the Resources Library - Images - Primary - Literacy - Alphabet - Alphabet letters - there are some lovely multicoloured letters there - upper and lower case.
