Musical hiccups

I embed a lot of music in flipcharts for singing, nearly every time we do one the board or something or other ' hiccups'. ie It pauses the music for a second and then carries on.
The children have got very used to this and it does actually really develop their listening skills as they stop, listen and then carry on.

Anyone got any ideas about how to solve the hiccups?

Not my specialism, but would suggest it is something to do with the sound card in the laptop/pc?? If not I am sure someone will put me right :D :eek: ;)
