This week I went to a wonderful Advanced workshop in Atlanta and I've been exploring ever since to learn/reinforce all the capabilities of AS2 that I have not been taking full advantage of. I opened the Abacus flipchart in the Example Activities in Shared Flipcharts and was fascinated to see the beads were set to move only horizontally and could not be resized. When I go to properties>restrictors on the the object edit tool box, I see only two boxes to check: "Can snap" and "Can block." Nothing about movement or resizing. Thinking I was missing something (which I probably am), I went to the help menu to read about "restrictor properties" and I found a whole array of possibilities for objects that don't seem to appear in the way that AS2 help describes.
These restrictors for objects seem to open a whole realm of possibilities for creative flipcharts and I don't want to miss out. What am I missing?

I'm afraid I do not have any answer to your question, but I do have a question for you - who presented the advanced workshop you attended in Atlanta, how did you find out about it, etc? I'm in the NJ & PA area and my district's school year has just finished 3 days ago. I would love to attend an advanced workshop this summer. I'm one of only two or three teachers in my district currently using an ActivBoard, so we can not justify the expense of an in-school training session, and I'm feeling rather isolated! ???? Thanks for any info you can provide (or anyone else!).

Five teachers in my school went to Promethean's office which is located in Atlanta for the US. Since four of us use macs, the presenter (who was excellent but whose name I don't remember) geared the workshop toward macs. Very nice since there are so many fewer posts in the mac user forum. Promethean appears to have a beginning and an advanced one-day workshop at their Atlanta office for $100 each month and a two-day "train the trainer" workshop also. I'd suggest calling them and seeing what ideas they have. Hope this helps.
If anyone out there can answer my question about restrictors in the object edit toolbox, I'd love to hear from you!
Hello Cappie and Cappy,
What you saw was a flipchart made using Activstudio Developer Edition (DE). Currently DE is available on restricted release under Windows only. The help describes functionality that PE supports but can not be authored (i.e. a flipchart made using DE will work as intended using PE).
However a lot of the functionality in Windows DE is available using Applescript on the Mac. I have attached an example flipchart ‘Set property.flp’ that allows movement/sizing attributes to be set for a selected object.
