Hi there, wondered if anyone could help before I give up and call Tech Support.
We have recently had four ACTIVboards fitted with ACTIVprimary2, three are now correctly working, but the fourth is flashing and is not being detected (USB) by the computer.
If anyone has any idea why, please let me know, I've tried the manuals and turning the board on/off etc, but no luck.
Regards,
Paul
Try a different USB slot. USB slots need to be configured and you might have it in an unconfigured slot. To configure a slot, you might be best ringing tech support and getting them to talk you through it. Although there are some dummies' guides in this forum (below).

Flashing? All the time? What colour? (Honestly, not a silly question)
I don't know about configuring USB slots. The board should install itself when connect via USB unless you have XP in which case there is bit of fiddling (you have to select the correct driver) but this is described in the manual.

The flame flashes white, whilst all the other boards stay white when they are switched on (and flash blue/red when data is receieved). The board has been flashing like this since before I tried to set it up, according to the class teacher its always been like that (fitted a few weeks back, we were awaiting new laptops before we started using them).
I don't think it can be the connection, becuase its doing it before I plug anything in. All I can think of is that the flashing is the board's way of saying "help, I'm broken...".
When I hook up to the computer, nothing happens, by that I mean the device is not detected nor installed (even as the invalid HCI XP defaults to), nothing is listed in device manager and no "found new hardware" type messages are displayed.
Waving a pen near the board (which usually causes a change in the light) is having no effect.

I have spoken to my firmware colleagues and they think you have faulty electronics. I suggest you call tech support so they can make sure of this. They will also be able to sort out any replacement.

It is actually a faulty power supply, Contact your local Promethean Support to get a replacement.
