View Full Version : Backgrounds
Hi all,
I am having a few memory problems today! Is it possible to alter the transluency of a background? If so could someone jog my memory please?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
The only way to do this is this....
Take a picture of the background - using the camera
Add to new page
Now that it is an object you can alter its transparency
Design Mode - double click to get object properties up
Click on appearance and drag the transparency slider along to the right
However it won't stay transparent when you add it to your backgrounds library
You need to take a picture, using the camera of it in its transparent state
Then add it to your backgrounds library
Make sure you have the whole "window" of the flipchart page covered before you add it as it tiles it.
Hope that helps...
Thanks Margaret, that is how I have done it in the past. I didn't know if there was another way as I cannot connect to the board at the mo and if I snapshot it the image will have the Promethean not detected message all over it! I have tried to block that over in a variety of different ways but the message seems to always come back.
Thanks anyway, I will just have to wait till I am back in school!

Try changing the scale of the flipchart to 50% so that the watermark is above the image of the flipchart page. Then use the camera to take a snapshot. You can then paste it to another page, change the translucency and lock it to the background. I don't know if the image quality would be compromised though. Try it and see.
Thanks kp!
I tried it this morning, it does affect the quality of the image but it was a great idea. I will remember that for another time but for this occassion I am just going to have to be patient and wait until I get back to school.
Thanks again.

Hi, do you have an Activ tablet (slate board)? I have one that I connect to my laptop at home, and my Lap top thinks it's connected to the White board, and I don't get any of the Promethean not detected messages. This might help.
