Almost forgot:

One of the reasons I was reinstalling the AS studio and upgrading it was because the window from the barrel button would pop up while writing without clicking the barrel button. This spontaneous appearance of this window increased as the board was used more, in particular when using the writing tool.

I have turned off the barrel button, but it still came up, even after the new upgrade. I must have some kind of setting set wrong, or I am doing something incorrectly when installing. Also, I cannot find the barrel button settings on the Mac version. I can enable the turn off feature of the barrel button by going to ACTIVvote, session, ACTIVboard.

Just wanted to say that we have had the boards for almost a school year now, on both platforms, and being a school which has three types of interactive boards, the ACTIVboard is by far superior in the way it interacts with the computer software, it's layering abilities over programs, it's saving ablities which includes a multi-layer abilty to save, and of course the ACTIVstudio software itself.

I would suggest contacting your local customer support centre if the right clicking persists. They may be able to help.

I've had this happening in a classroom. If you use one pen, it's fine. Use the other one and the right click menu keeps coming up. If I use the 'broken' pen for 5-10 mins, it settles down and starts working correctly BUT THEN the other pen starts doing it. One is a version 2 pen and the other is a version 3 - could this be something to do with it?

It is to do with the pen tuning on the board which happens when using a pen2 and pen3 after each other. I would suggest giving technical support a call. They will probably be able to help.

We've had the same problem. How does one know whether it is a Pen2 or a Pen3?

This doesn't specifically apply to the posts here....simply an FYI that I observed....

A board was acting "weird" once - the teacher was using one pen, the other pen was in the pen holder. Some weird stuff was happening with the board and when she removed the pen in the holder and put it in her desk, the weird stuff stopped happening. I have not seen the problem again.....but I always try that first when some anomaly occurs!

Any time you get weird board stuff it's always worth rebooting the electronics in the board by switching the board off for a few seconds - if you can find where it's plugged in!!
