May not be one for here, but here goes!
Does anyone know how to import an animated gif into Macromedia FX and then link it into Activtudio it does not resize itself to obscure my writing on Activstudio?

I just really want a small animation in the top right hand corner - out of the way of my working out!!!

???? ???? ???? ????

Have a go at this one I made earlier!!!

It's easy to create a swf from an animated gif in Flash:

Just choose File, Import, Import to Stage, select the location of the animated gif, and Flash will import it in keyframes. Resize the stage to be the same size as the gif, publish, and you're done.

ActivStudio has a minimum size of flash file window so don't make it too small. The other settings used were placeholder and start automatically. Quick example attached.

Daniel,

If I have a flash file and want to change the background, is it easy???

Well it should be quite straight forward, especially if the background is on its own layer.

You'd need the original .fla file. I could have a look if you post it here.

Ahhhhhhhh, I found out my problem. I use Mozilla and it would not let me save the target.

Switched to IE and it did!!!

Thanks folks. That fixes a whole bunch of my flash issues right there....

I found a way to quicly change the background of a gif animation and put it back into activstudio as an swf file.
U need an appliaction like "Ulead gif animator 5" to change the background to any colour u want and then save it as a flash file.
When linking to the flash file click on save in file and placeholder and then resize the placeholder.
Heres on I tried for Activote.

Really nice Flipchart.... love the content of the voting questions. Have you posted it to the Activote section of the Resources bit of the website? [clap]

Might be an issue with my version. It would not save the link as a .swf file. It saved it as something else...
