Hoping someone can help me ???? . We have just installed stand alone computers next to all our boards and as the board has to be connected with a spliter I have found that the picture quality of the projection has really fallen. I asume this is because we have brought cheap splitters. Could anyone advise on where to get good splitters from or any other way to resolve the problem. Any advise would be greatly recieved.

If possible, I would get a two head video card. These are specifically made for dual output. That is also one of the issues that I see with notebook computers out in the field. Some just don't have enough uuumph to run two outputs.

ATI and nVidia make great ones at an excellent price. Basically plug n play. [clap]

I have a Radeon 7000 series dual head display and thought this would be idea for my new whiteboard, however the ActivStudio software refuses to run on anything other than the primary monitor and I can't change this to be the second output which is being delivered to the projector. Any suggestions to get around this gratefully received.

Hi

If you go in Studio settings you will see a multiple monitors section (picture attached)

If you do not have this it is likely that you are not on the latest version.

Wow, fantastic response time!

Okay, now I have the activStudio software running on my projector and whiteboard but unfortunately the pen is not having any effect at all. Is there something obvious I am missing? Have restarted and made all settings direct activStudio events to the correct display, but no joy at all with the pen.

Is the board picking up the driver? Look on the taskbar for the Activcontrol icon. If it has a red cross through it then the board isn't picking up the driver hence no pen action. If that's the case go to http://portal.knowledgebase.net/display/4n/search.asp?tab=search and search the Technical Support Knowledge base where there'll be a solution. If the icon isn't there, the driver hasn't been installed.

OK

That will be introduced with Activdriver 4 due out soon.

You click calibrate and it will ask you which monitor you want to calibrate.

This will only work if you have monitor 1 then 2 not 2 then 1.

All good stuff folks, thanks.

I now have a flipchart showing on my projector screen, and can control it perfectly with my mouse but my board pen still has no effect whatsoever. It appears that the application is now happy to run on this monitor, but not to take advantage of the interactive nature intended for the device. Drivers all appear to be installed properly, works perfectly when using a splitter with a single desktop setup, but that seems such a waste when I have the dual display capability so nearly working.

The multiple monitors pane on the settings window mentions the "mouse monitor" as an option on several settings. Should I be able to tell the system which monitor to treat as the mouse monitor? (I am assuming this is the monitor which is regarded by the software as the one on which the pen/mouse will be active.)

There must be something I'm missing here...

We have a school with similar problems. With the dual monitors they get calibration only on their monitor and not on the ACTIVboard. Is this a settings issue or a software isssue with their video card? They want to be able to have the ACTIVboard running a flipchart and have another program working on the monitor (ie. attendance program). Is this possible?
