I have used the colour picker tool on several occasions, but now have various colours on my toolbar that I have only used once, and have lost some more standard colours.
Is there any way that I can reset the colours back to their original settings??Basically to remove all the ones that I have 'picked' up.

Thanks

Promethean Man > Studio Settings > Toolboxes > Reset all toolboxes will restore ALL the settings to the original configurations, including the colour palettes.

Did you know you can also choose to display 8, 12 or 16 colours on your Activstudio toolbar?

Did you also know that if you right click on any colour square on the palette you may change it to any one of up to the 32 million offered by your graphics card?

Now - before I go ahead and take my own advice... does re-setting restore ALL toolbar settings?

I want to keep all the other custom features I have set up on my Toolbars and ONLY return the colour palettes to the original setting..

Thanks,
Hilary

No problem.

I think this might be something we want to put as a feature request for a new version. Because I have had this issue. I have my toolbar just the way I want it, and if I want to reset the colors, I lose it all. I could save the toolbar, but that doesn't help with the colors.

I guess the LONG workaround is, save my toolbar. Then re-set the toolbar. Then do a screen capture with the re-set colors. Then, open up my old toolbar and paste that screen capture on the page. Then finally, use the color picker to change all my colors to the default. (I hope that made sense)

Yes, I was thinking that I will need to do something like that :(
As you say, a good thing to have as a request for the future.

I think there is a better way here. Choose Menu/Customise/Profile/Save as ...
Save your profile the way you want it. If you mess it up you can simply reload it. In this way you could have many different toolbars for different tasks.

Peter,

That is a good idea, and I thought about it. But the situtation is that Hilary already has her toolbar just the way she wants it with her tools. She just wants the colors re-set on that toolbar.

Correct - I already have several Profiles with different sets of tools, but I REALLY want to get back to the default colours!

PS I am much more careful when altering colour swatches now - I use the white one as the variable colour, so I know what to return it to afterwards.

I could do this the other way - snapshot my toolbars (the floating one AND the flipchart toolstrip) and drag all the objects from the 3rd row into My Collections..
Then Re-set All Toolbars (to get the colours back...) and re-do the other items.
Or again - not! I guess I can live with a muddled up set of colours...

Hilary :p

In v3.7 it is now possible to reset the colours on the main Toolbox using the new 'Reset' menu option under 'Customise --> Colours'.

THIS is such a fantastic idea! As someone who loves his color picker tool, this is very helpful! Thanks for always listening to the forum and teachers' suggestions!
