Flipchart Recorder

Hi all!
Like everyone, I'm very excited about the release of 2.5. [clap] [clap] I see the Flipchart Recorder now has 3 options for recording. If I use the Whole Screen Recorder, can I plug in a Microphone and have it record my voice along with the ACTIVboard flipchart? Does it also work over other applications?

In the old versions, you actually had the recorder box show so you could turn the recording off.

I have noticed that when I record a flipchart the box disappears. If this happens to you, just click on the icon for Flipcahrt recorder in your toolbox.. Works great!!!

I use to be able to use flipchart recorder really well - and I can still playback old recordings with sound but... with AS2.5 I can record but when I select 'record audio' I get a 'screen recorder error 14'! Can anyone help?? ????

This error usually occurs because it can't find the hardware to record the sound with.
However, if you have this attached & are still getting the error then have a look at the audio format settings.
You can get to these by clicking on the M on the screen recorder. By default they should be set to PCM, 11.025 khz, 8 bit, mono

Thanks Louise but... still no joy. I have tried out my microphone using audacity and that is recording and playing back as normal. I have changed the audio settings to what you suggested. When I use the flipchart recorder it is recording what I am doing but no sound and when I play the flipchart recording the volume control is not the usual colour therefore not 'active'. Could it be becuase I have jumped the gun and upgraded here in NZ prior to the 2.5 release here?? :eek:

I love the sound recorder. Question, can you capture annotations OVER the desktop with the sound recorder? When I try and do this I see the pen but it doesn't seem to work on the desktop on the playback. Can anyone help? It works fine as long as I"m in an original flipchart.

to record stuff on your desktop flipchart you need to ensure one of your recording settings is ticked
go to main settings/recordings
put a check in capture layered windows & that should now work for you
