Red Pen not working on Desktop annotations

I've read this somewhere recently, but a forum search for 'red pen' doesn't work as both words are too short, and I can't think what else to search under.

The red pen doesn't write on desktop annotations. It appears to be acting as an erasor, but you can't select it as you can with the scriblings of an erasor. I know that you can choose a different shade if you wish to write in red, but why doesn't it work?
Strange? I stumbled upon this when I was teaching a brand new user today - it's not great to hit bugs (?) when you're trying to build someone's confidence! (I know these things happen though)

the reason this happens is that we had to choose a colour to make transparent so that you could see through the flipchart but still use all the tools on it. A black colour was used first but some pc's didn't like this so red was used.

Shouldn't a colour that wasn't on the main colour palette have been used??? If a patch is coming out in a few weeks time, could this colour be changed?

It has been changed for the next release - however, to get to it you'd need to reset your toolbox. The best way is just to change it manually once & then it will be saved with your layout. Then if you have to reset your toolbox after the next maintenance release it won't cause a problem.

Great - it's not a problem for regular users - it's the 'irregular' and new ones that it can cause a problem for.
