HELP - my brain has failed me
all I want to do is group 2 objects together
and I just can't remember how
I know it is easy - I have done it before
but I obviously am right into half term mode - and have gone totally blank

please put me out of my misery

In Design Mode (click Promethean Man and his friend), click and drag over the objects you want to group. Double-click the selection and choose properties. Under Identification, make sure the "Grouped" option is checked.

Hope this helps!

Or even...

select the objects you wish to group & then do ctrl g
this will group them together
to ungroup them select the group & do ctrl u

this will even work without being in design mode!

You can use the commands which you would use with Word, etc.
Here are some I use regularly:

Ctrl A - select all
Ctrl C - copy
Ctrl G - group
Crtl P - print
Ctrl S - save (that is after an inital save)
Ctrl U - ungroup
Ctrl V - paste
Ctrl X - cut
Ctrl Z - undo

There are also things for text like:
Ctrl B - bold
Ctrl I - italic
Ctrl U - underline

Hope this helps.

Also,

ctrl - n - starts a new flipchart
pg up - moves to previous page
pg down - moves to next page
select an object
- use arrow keys to move it by 1 pixel
- use arrow & shift to move it by 5 pixels
- use arrow & ctrl to move it by 10 pixels

hold down the shift key when clicking on objects & they will select/deselect so you can add/remove objects from a group selection

Doing ctrl s before saving the flipchart once will bring up the my flipcharts folder for you to save it into there

these work in primary & studio

before you go trying them all - check you have the latest version. Some of the shortcuts will only work in later versions of the software
2.1.9 in primary
2.1.23 in PE

Wow I'm impressed by all these shortcuts - I only knew some of them - but I'm not sure if I'll remember them all!
Thanks though
Sarah

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but you can select objects that are not close to one another by pressing the control (ctrl) button and clicking on the each object, in the same way you can when selecting files in windows explorer. You can then group them in the ways mentioned.

The advantage of this method is that you can have many objects in between and they are not grouped with your selected objects.

I'm uncertain if I've explained that very well....:(
