Hi there all,

I know 2.5 is out soon, and hopefully some of the requests in this htread will be rendered superfluous.

Here are a few to start with...

1. Allow embedding of MPEG-2 videos into page with a placeholder. At present I can play MPE-2 with Quicktime just fine, but I can't embed it into the actual pages.

2. Allow looping of embedded videos - I found a lovely quicktime movie of the Earth doing one complete rotation, I'd like it to just sit on the page rotating indefinitely.

3. Option to set videos playing as soon as page is turned to.

4. Generally imrove the playback speed of embedded videos (it's a bit jerky on mine).

5. Ability to drag items onto another page when in presentation mode. I'd really like the kids to be able to highlight words in a text and then drag them into a 'holding area' on another page.

6. Ensure that ActivePrimary always prompts you to save any changes. Too often, and for various reasons, I've closed it by mistake and lost all a lot of hard work!

7. Linked objects across pages. I'd like to be able to change an object on one page and have this reflected on another one.

Anyway, there we go. I hope some of these are addressed in the next update. Please feel free to add more wishes to this list! Of course, if it's possible to do some of this stuff already, and I've just not figured out how yet, please let me know! :)

Did you try this by:
1. Go into Design mode
2. Control Click on page and choose Insert Link object
3. Select the movie and choose to embed it.
4. It will get opened in the video player so click OK to add it to flipchart

This can be done with the help of Apple script. I think Jos who is an
AppleScript expert can help you ;)

This depends on your VRAM available.

I think the rest is for Promethean judgement.

Yeah, that's how I normally embed video in a page. Works just fine with MPEG1 and Quicktime video but not MPEG2.

I'm also looking forward to being able to embed shockwave/flash movies in a page, after all Quicktime player can deal with them...
