View Full Version : Old boards?

I think this is a really stupid, obvious question, but I'm going to ask it anyway and hope you all forgive me. One of my Y1 teachers came to me today and asked if she could use the voting system on her board. I, very excited, went in to her room to show her how to register the systems and we couldn't get it to work at all! It showed an old picture of a voting system. The only thing I can think of is that it wouldn't work because she has an old board with the flashy lights in the corner! (Very technical, I know. Is it infra-red??) Is this why they won't work? And does this mean that 3 out of all our boards will never be able to use the voting system? :( Please help!

Hi Alison, it isn't a stupid question at all. The 75" ACTIVboard (this is what you are describing) use a different method of communicating with its slates/voting devices, but the good news is that you can connect an ACTIV radio pod to the board to allow it to communicate with the orange/grey voting devices and slates that you are currently using.
If you want to give our sales team a call I'm sure they can quote you for 3 of those for your boards. They just sit on top of the left corner, blinking away.

We have two boards with the little extra pods installed... they work just as good as a radio-enabled board :)
