Hi All,

I've been racking my brain trying to solve this teacher generated question:

They have a map of a community ( a jpeg file ) that they want to link individual parts of it to different pages.

For example - they would like the kids to click on the post office and go to a post office page and the same for the police station etc.

This is the same process as an image map for a webpage but I can't find a lasso tool or selector tool that would allow that process to happen.

Can anyone think of a way that would work? I suggested using a symbol on each of the places, such as a star, and use that as a link.

Take a snapshot of the image and add it to the same page. Put that image on top of the original so that it doesn't "show" a bit like this....

Then provided that image is "on top" then it becomes the link object....+wave+

Another way to do it is to put a shape from the resource library over the object to be clicked - make the object transparent and link it to another page in your flipchart. It then appears as though you are clicking the object be it a post office or whatever you like!! Simple solution and really quick! +wave+

Thanks for the solutions. Both work wonderfully well. I almost resorted to Photoshop because of the severe brain drain happening. Thanks again!

A way I have used with a picture of a group of people round a table, is to take a freehand snapshot of each persons head. Overlay each one exactly over the original head, then link each new head to your different pages. I've used this to link sounds and movie clips as well.

Don't forget to use the arrow keys on your keyboard to fine adjust!
