We are having problems if we are marking up a Word doc and want to capture the annotations and the Word doc to a flipchart. The camera tool ttakes a picture of the Word document but not the annotations. Selecting Desktop Flipchart creates a new desktop flipchart that, unless I save it right away, can't be accessed again until quitting the program.
Can anyone tell me the "correct" way to capture annotated work in other programs to a flipchart?
Thanks!

There is a problem in the current release when using the camera tool in Desktop flipchart mode after you have annotated. If you use the camera in Area, Free Hand or Point to Point mode the annotation is not included in the snap shot. This problem will be fixed in the next release.
If you the Camera tool in Window or Full screen mode, annotations are captured.
If you show/hide normal flipchart after using Desktop flipchart it does appear that the Desktop has disappeared (as you have gone back to the live desktop). However if you select Desktop flipchart mode again from the toolbox the existing flipchart reappears with all the pages and annotations still there.

I noticed that this post was in 2005. It is now 2008, I'm working with a Mac Computer and ActivStudio 3.6, and this problem still exists. Why hasn't this been resolved yet?

I think the time for the Promethean Planet is wrong...

So glad I have found this thread I could almost kiss you ! :)
Because I have exactly the same problem on my MacBook : the annotations are NOT captured when in Camera Mode.
I couldn't figure out what was wrong : was it my "old" Intel GMA 950 graphics card on my MacBook 2Ghz Core Duo ?
Was I doing something wrong or was I missing something in my settings ?
Even the tech guy from PrometheanFrance wasn't aware of the problem.
I was a bit lost.
So glad I'm not alone, and I will wait for the next release reassured :)

A workaround for this is to set up a Gesture in the preferences to "Save Fullscreen snapshot to My Resources".
A dialog window will appear asking you to name the file. Once named, click OK.
This will save an image of your screen complete with annotations to My Images in the Resource Library so you can refer back to it later.

Another workaround would be to save the Word document as a pdf, and then import the pdf into a flipchart.

There is a newer version (you can download it from your dashboard) but I don't think it does anything about pdfs. I do like several other changes though - it's worth the update.

I don't think the Mac version was updated, but I just read your original post more closely and there is a solution to your problem. Go to System Preferences - Tools, and check the box that says "Camera captures toolboxes." With that box checked off, the camera will capture annotations in both Desktop Flipchart and Desktop Overlay mode using both the Area Camera and the Point to Point Camera. I discovered this quite by accident, as this was not at all obvious.
I hope this helps!

Oops, once again I didn't notice I was in the MAC area. I guess that's the danger of pushing "New Posts" if you aren't going to remember to filter them. Sorry!
