Hi there,
I work in the US for Promethean and we are starting a major push to collect flipcharts on our website. If you are a US teacher (or even if you're not!) please feel free to join us and share your great lessons.
To access the "ACTIVresources", use this URL and click on ACTIVresources. Andy Ryff is our new resource manager and is managing this service in the US.

Please take note of some recent posts of flipcharts I did (or was inspired to do by someone else!) Click on What's New!
Thanks,
Lisa

We’ve had 63 flipcharts submitted to the US resource library since February 1st and almost half have been added to the library by our very own TLC’s (Teaching and Learning Consultants)!!! Thanks, guys!
In addition to the TLC submissions, we had a fantastic flipchart uploaded from a user named Gregory in Cleveland. His flipchart, “Multiple Meaning Words” is extremely well done, using some fantastic techniques and graphics. It’s gotten great reviews from the staff here!
“Very good use of interactivity (and actions to go to specific pages) and could also be used with voting as well. Very nice!”
To get to these resources, go to:
http://www.Prometheanworld.com/n-america/en/html/training/training.shtml
and click on Activresources.
Below are just some of the new lessons.
I encourage all US teachers to submit your great lessons!

Good Job, Lisa and crew!
I still still waiting for other teachers of U.S. history to chime in. I think I am either the only one with an Activboard or the only one that makes lessons for it (besides you, of course). ;)

Boy, have we got good news coming your way. We are working on some great new resources (including US history) I will post info on this in the next couple of weeks.
Keep submitting! I was doing some training with a group of high school social studies teachers on Friday and I think folks are making stuff like crazy. They just don't submit because 1)they don't have time (which I completedly understand), 2)they're not sure that their stuff is good enough or 3)they have stuff in their lessons that are copywrited and dont' want to get into trouble.
Do you think I'm right on those things?

Hi Lisa,
I think you are completely right.....:D
I agree that it is a mind set about submitting stuff. We need to emphasise that any flp. that has been used to teach will be of use to the resources area. Nobody downloads a flipchart from the resource area and uses it "as it is" because of different interpretations/different teaching approaches/different objectives, BUT there will always be a page(s) that you can adapt/use as a starting place. This type of starting place can be a godsend when you are desperately trying to think of what you are going to do. It would be good if people could automatically submit when they have completed their lesson with a comment or two.... but just submit it - please!
I think as a profession we often think that what we offer can never be good enough. Well trust me the best resources up there are from the humblest of teachers. Share - it is such a good feeling when you hear you have helped a fellow colleague....+wave+ [clap]

I agree with you also. It took awhile to work up the nerve to submit one and I find myself going back to it to see the activity (and to see if it has been rated) but now I don't think it will be a problem.
I am looking forward to seeing the new resources! I guess I am not a very creative guy but I am having trouble coming up with fresh ideas when using ActivStudio in History. When I inservice my collegues in math, science, and language arts, it is so easy bacuase of all the resources included, and becuase those disiplines have set, linear rules that can be easily illustrated and demonstrated.

I've posted a few history lessons but not being a history teacher myself, it's hard for me to know how to go on this.
To find them in our resource library you can search for
Greece
Columbus
Thanksgiving
Would love any comments!
The Greece ones might be helpful in World History. When I submitted, I admit it was hard to categories as middle or high as some could work in middle and high (or at least pieces of them)
My Thanksgiving one got rated a "2" : (
...but if you want to see a "5" try searching for
"Martin" !) You will find a great one on Martin Luther King, Jr.
I also saw one posted on Lincoln's Gettysburg address that might be helpful.
