My school just installed promethean boards in all the classrooms and I am just learning how to constuct flipcharts in activprimary. I would love to take my songs (mp3 format) and attach them to certain pages in my flipcharts. I'm envisioning a "play" button that would automatically launch the song. Is that even possible? If so, how?

Thanks (from a flipcharting newbie!)

In ActivPrimary - you can add sounds such as MP3. Click the Promethean Man/Menu option and click the Promethean Man option. The icon will turn red and it lets you right click the page. Right Click the flipchart and you can then get a menu that includes "add a link object". Click that and you should see add a Sound File option.

If you are using or upgrade to ActivInspire it is even easier. In the menu of ActivInspire look for Insert > Media. Click this. Navigate to your MP3 file, select it and it will be put into the page with a Play button ready to click. When you do a little sound player should appear that lets you stop/start the sound and adjust its volume.

You can also attach MP3 sounds to graphics and pictures. So you could make a talking story book or other interesting interaction or assessment based on listening skills.

Hope this helps.

Check out the Activtips. I think there is one on using sound: http://www.Prometheanplanet.com/server.php?show=nav.1147
