+wave+Hello,
teachers at our school have basically created exams over many pages in a flipchart.
1 question per page,
from what I have seen 1 correct answer per question.
Now,
when they export this to excel,
For mostly all the questions it shows incorrect answers as being correct,
correct answers being incorrect etc.
Which doesn't help the teacher when they come to marking the exam, for obvious reasons.
We have Activ Votes and Activ Expressions,
I dont know if this effects the matter but we have 2 sets of votes, 1 set of expressions but we have been told to register one more device than we actually have;
so a set of activ votes, 31 in total, we register 32 devices, I was told to do this otherwise the 31st device wouldnt be recognised.
we are using V1.3.0.0 of Activ Inspire, and we have used 2 previous versions also but the same result.
Some exams/flipcharts are shown to more than one class, using the same set of votes.
Would this effect the outcome of the excel spreadsheet each time? Even though it is used in a different session/day.
Sometimes an activexpression doesn't respond, so is rebooted by the student, would this effect their result?
Hope I can get some answers,
thankyou for the long read.
Karl. ????

Could you post up some files for us to have a look at?

I have the same problem with my active expressions. I have to go through each question and each response and check it for accuracy. Needless to say, this is not a time-saving procedure. I have attached a the excel file and the flip chart that shows an example. Please help....

I attach a set of results exported to Excel. Unfortunately, having exported the results, I didn't save the flipchart with the students' votes, which is what you really want to see, Louise.
The problem (from the students' perspective) is that the scoring looks random: see Device4, and Q4, Q6, Q8. The results for Device 11 suggest that the system can work correctly, but it's difficult to motivate the students to concentrate on choosing the correct answer when they lose faith in it.

Hi
I see you have the font error when opening the xls. In some cases this was causing problems with the responses within the export. I don't suppose you have a copy of the flipchart that contains results that I can try exporting with our latest test version to check that our fix for the error has also fixed the mixed up results.
thanks

having had a quick look at your export I've got 2 options as to what has gone wrong. It looks like some of the students missed answers at some point during the quiz. This made all the answers move along one so they would be incorrect - fixed in the next release. Also, you've also got the font message which could have caused problems - also fixed in the next release.

Hi Louise,
I have been a bit frustrated with the "missing fonts" messages that come with each export. Can you give an estimate for when a new release that fixes this might become available? I have stopped opening the exports in Excel, I just preview them (using the space bar on my Mac) instead. They show up just fine there, though only the summary page can be viewed.
Thanks,
Tom
