Does anyone know how to extract sound from a premade flipchart so I can use it in a new flipchart?

Can you be a little more specific about the sound? Perhaps it would help if you either posted the flipchart you are referring to, or provided us with a link if you downloaded from Planet.

if the sound is embedded in the flipchart, then rename the *.flp extension as a zip file (*.zip), unzip the new zip file and amongst all the files there should be your mp3 or wav or whatever it is...

Depending on the format of the sound file, you can probably just drag the sound icon from your flipchart page into your resource library (My Sounds or Shared Sounds). Then when you want to reuse, just drag it out of your library.
