I have downloaded Activ Inspire but still there is only Activstudio on my desktop I only found a document with German titles that I can't open.

I tried a lot of things with Activstudio but how can I scan texts and images from my french book into the software. That was one of the very convincing points with the smartboard software.... is it possible and if yes how???

Do you think you downloaded the German version by mistake? ActivInspire comes in multiple languages.

As far as getting stuff from your text book. If it's on paper, you'd need a scanner to get it digitized no matter what software you have. If they have pdf type files with your textbook, you can easily import them into ActivInspire.

You also might find a bunch of French resources already made so you won't have to create stuff from scratch. Here is a "theme" which includes flipcharts, additional resource packs and weblinks that members have submitted for sharing.

All of the flipcharts are editable so if you like a page or not another, you can delete what you don't like!

I didn't download the German version by mistake but I can't find Active Inspire on my computer. It's still only the Icon and programm activestudio. I downloaded it correctly - I got a serial number with which I should activate Active Inspire but how ???

I followed the French links and I managed to open them. I downloaded the file on Les animaux. I managed to translate the English questions into German. But I don't see what to do? There is the flipchart page and there are 4 answers and 4 pictures. BUt how do the pupils chose the right answer? Do they have to click on the right word? Is there any reaction of the picture - is there a possibility to light the right animal picture when the word is clicked on?
How can I import my notebook files that I created with the smartboard software.

If you download ActivInspire, the installer application should download to wherever downloads download to. You should have an installer which you should double-click on to install the application.

Not sure what Les Animaux is, is that a resource pack or a flipchart? There are many ways to make a flipchart interactive. For example, you could ask that the students match words to pictures using containers. Or leave blank spaces for students to write. You may want to look at some of the Activtips videos or take one of the free courses.

To import a Smart Notebook file with ActivInspire, you should go to the File>Import>Smart Notebook. See screenshot.

I have been trying to use my downloaded Activinspire for more than 6 months now. I keep getting the error msg 1606 that indicates that the folder that I want to download it to cannot be located. No matter which folder I change the download option to by clicking "Browse", the error message continues to appear. This has been very frustrating, and some of the flipcharts I would like to download from Planet are only available in Inspire. Even though it allows me to download them, I'm unable to open them because of this problem.

I have visited the Promethean World website and left help messages there. I've also tried tech support at the toll free number. I even sent a msg via this forum to one of the developers, and no response. The suggestions made on Promethean world which give a work around for error 1606 are NOT working for me. As recently as a half hour ago I tried to install Inspire again. All the files are there. The program begins the extraction; the InstallShield Wizard goes through the process, but it can never be completed because of the error. PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS!!!!! I love Inspire and have been frustrated with being unable to use it. ????????

Is it a school computer? Can the staff help.

Many installers ask for Virus Checkers to be switched off when installing.

How do I import Smartboard notebook activities into activinspire

You can use the link in the Dashboard or you can go to File>Import>Smart Notebook.

i've seen those flipcharts that assign command actions to icons like say they use a reset button when u click on it all answers are reset or when u click on an image the name of that image is displayed or sometimes when u click on a word it moves to label a designated part of the image .... how can i do that?

Select an object and then right click it to reveal the Actions browser - you adjust the options there
