Hi everyone,
Firstly, if anyone thinks this would be better fit in another form, by all means, move this thread. I didn't see any forum about hardware related issues, but I may just be blind.
We just today had the newest Activboards installed in our classroom. I love the motorized height adjustment, and the dual pens, and the teacher/student pens. Promethean has come a long way since their models from 2 years ago, which we have 1 of. And, I like that its not that weird orange anymore, and that the projector color matches the color of the rest of the board :D.
Promethean beats Smarttech by a landslide, I just wish more people would know about Promethean.
But, we've found a big flaw with both boards: The ActivPen is WAY to stiff.
It is basically impossible to write on the board.
After playing around for about a day, I figured out that if you "break in" the pens, and press them fairly hard against a table or smooth surface, and repeat this many times, the pressure tip switch on the pens loosens up a little bit, but it's still not ideal.
Anybody else experience this? I love the board, but the pens are a big problem.
