Board is all connected up corretly.

Fuse's checked, power unit is working, connections are all connected correctly.

Still no power (Promethean symbol in top left of board is not lit up)

ActivManager does not even recognise that the board is connected via the ports. I am running it through a USB.

What else is left?

Hmm. Anyone else around you with an Activboard? You may want to try their power cords (AC adaper) and see if it is something with yours. Or try yours on their board.

If the board is not getting power, it won't connect so I don't think that messing around with the Activmanager or USB cables will work.

Which model Activboard do you have? Some of the newer models can pull power from the computer via USB but I think that is the new 100 or 300 models.

Perhaps others have different ideas?

Hi, thanks again, for the help.

The power pack is warm, so there's power there. When installed, the board 'beeped' when power was turned on, but not since. I'm starting to think that the power pack may have tripped and cut out, so I'm going to turn it off for some time to cool down and se if thats the problem.

Also, I think the actual driver (updated one I downloaded and ActivManager) is to old. there is only a facility for Serial 'COM' ports to be detected....not USB.

My question is...if I download ActivInspire, will it come with the associated drivers for USB connection?

The strange thing is, the software (ActivStudio 2.5) is the software that came with the board?!...yet it doesnt cater for USB connection?!

yes , downloading and installing Activinspire will delete the old driver and automatically install the latest driver along with Activmanager all in one shot.
